Could you join the Community Council?

The Community Council currently has six vacancies, and at the meeting of 9 June members voted unanimously to hold a casual vacancy election to fill them.

To stand you need to live within the Community Council’s area and be on the electoral register. No particular experience or qualification is needed. What is needed is a willingness to give up an evening every couple of months and an interest in the two villages.

If you have ever read the minutes and thought something could be done better, that is exactly the reason to put your name forward. Come along to a meeting first and see what it is like, there is no obligation at all. You can read more about what the Community Council does, and what it cannot do, on our About the Council page, or get in touch for a chat.
