Community resilience plan taking shape

Work on a community resilience plan for Dalton and Carrutherstown is well under way. Members of the Community Council met Dumfries and Galloway Council’s resilience officer to work out how to make the plan manageable for a community of our size, and the draft is now around 80 per cent complete.

Once it is finished it will be submitted to the council for review, and we will publish it here.

A resilience plan sets out, in practical terms, who does what and what help is available locally if the villages are cut off or left without power for a long spell. In the meantime, our Community Resilience page lists the numbers worth keeping somewhere you can find them without the internet, and what is worth having in the cupboard before the next storm.
