When something is affecting the villages, this is where we will post it. Most of the time this page is quiet, and that is a good sign.
Nothing to report
There are no live updates at the moment. If you are in the middle of a power cut or a flood right now, the numbers you need are on our Community Resilience page. Call 105 free from any phone for a power cut, and 999 if anyone is in danger.
Where an update will appear
We know that during a power cut a phone with a bar of signal may be all anyone has, so we keep this simple.

A coloured bar across the top of every page on this website. If it is there, something is going on.

Usually the fastest, because neighbours post what they can see from their own doorstep.

The fuller picture, kept updated as the situation changes and left here afterwards.
What we will post
- power cuts affecting the villages, and what the network operator is saying
- road closures, flooding and conditions on the A75 and the B roads
- school closures and changes to transport
- water supply problems
- severe weather warnings that actually affect us, rather than every yellow warning
- anything the Community Council is asked to pass on by the council or the emergency services
We are volunteers, not a control room. We will post what we can confirm, and we will say when we are unsure. For official information always go to the source: 105 for power, Floodline for rivers, and Police Scotland on 101 or 999.
