The council
Policies & Guidance
The written rules the Community Council works to. We are building this set one document at a time, and each one is adopted by a vote at a public meeting before it appears here.
Local Grant Scheme Applications policy
Adopted at the public meeting of 9 June 2026 by six votes to none, this is the first document in the set. It sets out who can apply for a grant from the windfarm funds, what the money can and cannot be spent on, how much can be requested, how applications are decided and what happens afterwards.
The full policy is reproduced inside the minutes of 9 June 2026 until it is published here as a document in its own right. A plain English summary of the parts that matter to most people is on our Local Grants and Windfarm Funding page.
Who can apply
Individuals acting for wider community benefit, non constituted groups and constituted groups, within our area.
How much
Up to £250, £500 or £1,000 depending on who is applying, with larger proposals routed to the fund administrator.
What happens after
Receipts within 30 days of a purchase and in any case within 90 days of the award. Records are kept for seven years.
Still to come
The Community Council is a young one and is writing its document set as it goes. Papers that already exist in some form, and will be published here once they are finalised and adopted, include our constitution, our community resilience plan and our community promise, which is already displayed in both village noticeboards.
If you would like to see a document that is not here yet, ask. It is quicker than waiting, and it tells us what people actually want.
